Well Internet has been down for a number of days, and with exams coming up and me still running around it’s been hard to find time to write an entry. My first paper is on Wednesday, an oral exam which I don’t really know what to expect. It could be to prove a theory, solve a problem or just explain a concept. Or a combination of those. Hard to study for when one is so used to just spamming TYS and past solutions to get through written papers.
The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Singapore in Switzerland just moved house and had a reception on Friday. I took the chance to skip school explore Geneva and have a Singapore Food buffet there. 40 CHF to get there, but the trip was worth it. A visit to the United Nations and to get to know many Singaporeans over here was quite interesting. An introduction to social gatherings for me as well.
Saturday was the day when 10000 people went crazy and ran around Zurich. It’s the annual SOLA race, where teams of 14 run 120km around the hills (mountains in Singapore context) of Zurich. I was part of the erasmus team, and was assigned one of the craziest routes – a 6.2km ascent of the highest mountain in Zurich, 420m vertical distance covered in the course of it. I kind of ran it unprepared, having not run for ages (and not even trying the full distance once). Ended up 595th out of 820 runners for my part, but my teammates saved me and we were slightly better placed overall.
I don’t think I can put the photo up, I’m supposed to buy it from a website but I haven’t yet done so. Not planning to do that, it costs 10CHF for one.
And that’s it for now =)
