It’s -2 degrees Celsius now. What was supposed to be the start of the spring, when the Daylight Savings was changed and there was a period of torrential snowing, has turned into a false hope. It snowed this morning, surprising many of us who woke up to a white field outside our door. A number of us saw the sun shine brightly when we were leaving for school, and decided to wear less layers out. I decided to cycle too.
Ho ho. The wind was blowing wildly, and even at 6 deg that’s not something you want to be caught in, especially going down the slope to ETH. It stayed this way the whole day, and when the clouds covered the sun at about 4 it just got colder. I almost wanted to leave my bicycle at the Hauptbahnhof to prevent my legs from aching AND freezing at the same time. Lesson 1: Don’t trust the weather.
(FYI: Weather forecast for the next 7 days, cloudy, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain. sounds familiar?)
I met my Entrepreneurial Risk Supervisor today. We have agreed for me to do a research project on YouTube! Dr Crane has been working on Complex Systems and Social Entrepreneurship for the last 2 years, and is highly motivated in determining the relation between information extracted from videos on YouTube and social trends/ type of video. I’ll be working in relation to how culture and country affects the view rates of certain types of videos. Or something like that, it’s not concrete. I’ve got two weeks to think of an interesting and useful research project title. Since when did YouTube become so technical 😀
::Photo of Kreuzplatz – It’s the only place I know in Zurich where there’s a Migros, a Coop and a Denner (and an organic shop) all at the same junction, all surviving despite the stiff competition::
