This comes to you live from my dinner table, where I have just attempted my first rice since coming here. Previously it has all been pasta pizza sandwiches and soup, but no rice. How does it look? see for yourself!
Here are the results..
Rice: 5/10 Still crunchy, obviously didn’t take enough time to let the rice boil. Fire was probably too high, and when the water ran out I wasn’t sure what to do. Eventually added a bit more water and let it simmer a while longer, so it’s now a little soggy but tastes better. A little gravy from the veg does wonders!
Kangkong: 6/10 Crunchy, definitely needs to cook for longer. The chilli flavour is in the veg, it’s actually quite nice! Stalks should be cut shorter though. Overestimated the amount that the veg would shrink.
Marinated Chicken Wings: 7/10 Cheating a bit here, cos I bought them pre-marinated. But I think the self-marinate for the lamb the last time tastes better. The chicken is properly cooked and the outside is not too tough, But inside still a bit soft.
Tofu with Minced Meat: 6/10 Due to lack of apparatus, I had no idea how to cook it. Used some funny equipment found around the kitchen, definitely not for the right purpose. The tofu, well I can’t go wrong can I. The meat is fine, but no taste cos I cooked it plain. Great for health-watchers, but I added some sesame oil and soya sauce to make it better.
Overall: 24/40. 60%, and self praise is always better than it is! OH well. Gotta eat what I cook right. A night of studying awaits, and hopefully not too many toilet breaks. :p

hahahaha…rice bucket boy ! Rice looks so fluffy and white, much better than *ahem* brownish white rice
